About Helcyon
For decades, business owners were expected to decipher financial statements, interpret dashboards, and guess what their numbers were trying to say. Most never wanted that job — and they shouldn't have needed to.
Helcyon exists to remove that burden and replace it with certainty.
You no longer have to pretend to
be your own CFO.
The Transformation
Helcyon doesn't make you "better with dashboards."
It changes the role you have to play in your own company.

You receive your business health delivered automatically — monthly or more frequently. Each delivery includes a written digest with supporting charts and visuals so the meaning is unmistakable.
The dashboard is there when you want to explore. You simply don't have to live inside it.
We don't just read your P&L. We read the full financial picture — statements, transactions, margins, fees, and trends — and return it as plain language you can act on.
Helcyon does the analysis. You remain in control of the decisions.
The Origin
Helcyon wasn't built in a lab. It was built from watching businesses fail that shouldn't have.
When you process payments for thousands of small businesses, you see everything. You see restaurants that look packed every night but are bleeding cash. You see agencies landing big clients while their margins quietly collapse. You see transaction data drop off a cliff weeks before owners know something is wrong.
Our founder watched profitable companies run out of cash. He saw strong businesses suffocate because nobody translated their numbers in time. The data was always there.
Interpretation wasn't.
Helcyon exists to ensure owners never face that blind spot again.
The Founders
Helcyon was created by people who have felt the consequences of not knowing soon enough.

Lukas Swid

Lukas is not an academic theorizing about business failure. He is an operator who lived inside it.

He has hired, downsized, survived cash crunches, negotiated with banks, rescued margins, and rebuilt operations. He has seen what owners face when numbers stop being abstract and start being existential.
Lukas ran operations across China, France, South Africa, India, Mexico, Brazil, and the United States — in chemicals, payments, food-tech, and real estate.
Different currencies. Different regulations. Different cultures.
The same patterns.
Cash pressure looks the same in São Paulo as it does in Chicago. Margin erosion doesn't care what language your invoices are in. Customer concentration risk kills companies on every continent.
That's why Helcyon isn't built for "American small businesses" or "tech startups." It's built on universal financial truth, stress-tested across how businesses actually operate.

Blake Drakos
Founding Team Member & COO
Blake Drakos began his career as an engineer, earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Montana Tech, with minors in Business Management and Mathematics. His training centered on breaking complex systems down, understanding how and why they fail, and rebuilding them to perform better. That systems-oriented mindset followed him into business early.
While still in college, Blake founded and operated multiple ventures. Some succeeded. Most did not. Through those experiences, he encountered a reality many founders don't openly discuss: strong ideas often fail not because of effort or ambition, but because of invisible operational and financial blind spots. Decisions were made on intuition instead of signal, and problems compounded quietly until it was too late.
Rather than walking away, Blake became focused on pattern recognition—studying why certain businesses collapse while others stabilize and scale. That pursuit took him deep into operations, financial modeling, and ultimately AI-driven decision systems. He learned to apply artificial intelligence not as a buzzword, but as a practical tool: one that surfaces early warning signals, translates raw data into clarity, and enables operators to act before small issues become existential threats.
At Helcyon, Blake's role is deliberate and relentless: building systems that make businesses healthier, not noisier. His focus is on turning complexity into operational discipline—ensuring Helcyon delivers real-world execution, not theoretical insight. Having lived on the other side of uncertainty himself, Blake understands that clarity delivered early doesn't just inform decisions—it changes outcomes.

Ben Swanson
Founding Team Member & CMO
Ben brings a disciplined, systems oriented perspective to Helcyon, shaped by formal training and first hand exposure to how businesses grow, stall, and fail in practice.
He earned a bachelors in business and information technology from Montana Technological University, where he developed a foundation at the intersection of technology, data, and business decision making. That perspective continues to guide his approach to growth not as isolated marketing activity but as an outcome of aligned strategy, execution, and financial clarity.
Early in his career, Ben was involved in building multiple startups. Not every effort endured, but together they exposed recurring decision making and visibility gaps common in growing businesses. Those experiences revealed a consistent pattern of capable teams making high confidence decisions with incomplete signals and discovering risk only after it had compounded. Rather than disengage, Ben focused on understanding where clarity breaks down and how better systems could surface insight earlier.
Much of his formative learning came through sustained work in the digital marketing space, where real world execution sharpened his understanding of feedback loops, measurement, and scale. Over time, these experiences converged into a clear conviction that artificial intelligence, applied correctly, could translate complexity into timely understanding for operators.
At Helcyon, Ben focuses on ensuring the platform communicates with precision, earns trust deliberately, and applies artificial intelligence in service of earlier, better informed decisions.

Fahad Azeem
Founding Team Member & CTO
That distinction is the difference between a dashboard and a diagnosis. And it is the technical problem he has spent 14 years solving — inside some of the most demanding engineering environments in the world.
His platforms run in 185 countries. His solutions are in production at Microsoft, IBM, and Cisco — organizations that don't adopt technology that isn't built to an uncompromising standard. When those organizations trust your architecture with their operations, it means one thing: you built it right.
His expertise sits at the exact intersection Helcyon requires. FinTech. AI. Large-scale data architecture. Real-time systems that have to perform under conditions that expose every weakness. He knows how financial data moves at scale, where it fails, and what it takes to build something reliable enough that a business owner can trust it with the information that keeps their company alive.
At Helcyon, Fahad owns everything that runs under the hood. The Business Vital Signs engine. The real-time diagnostic layer. The Financial Immune System. The architecture that makes continuous financial monitoring not just possible — but accurate, secure, and scalable to hundreds of thousands of businesses.
He didn't join Helcyon because it was the easy next step. He joined because nobody had built this correctly yet. And that kind of problem doesn't come along often.

Dom Prisco
Founding Team Member & CCO
I've spent my career inside large, complex organizations where the gap between what systems reported and what was actually happening in the business had real operational and financial consequences.
At Glencore, I led the global implementation of Treasury and trade capture systems — work that required translating complex financial operations into scalable infrastructure across multiple geographies. Before that, I worked with energy companies including Just Energy, Plymouth Rock, and PBF Energy, and investment banks such as Merrill Lynch, UBS, and Deutsche Bank. The common thread across all of it was sitting at the intersection of business operations, financial data, and institutional risk.
That background is what brought me to Helcyon.
Most small and mid-size businesses are running on tools that tell them what already happened. Helcyon reads what's happening now — across cash, revenue, margins, customers, and growth — and surfaces the signals that matter before they become problems.
My role is to build the commercial infrastructure that takes that capability to market: the distribution channels, the institutional partnerships, and the global expansion strategy that lets Helcyon reach the businesses and advisors who need it most.
The Result
Helcyon is built for owners who want answers, not software tutorials.
The biggest change is not in your data.
It is in you.
You stop fearing what you haven't checked
You stop guessing in leadership meetings
You stop pretending numbers "make sense" when they don't
You sleep differently because the picture is clear
Helcyon replaces anxiety with comprehension — and isolation with partnership.
Our Beliefs
No business should fail because the owner couldn't read a report
Clarity should not require a finance degree
Numbers should speak, not whisper
Dashboards should support decisions — not replace them
Owners deserve the truth in plain language, with pictures to match
You shouldn't have to become a CFO to keep your company alive
Our Commitments
Read-only financial connections
Zero human access by default
SOC 2 and bank-grade encryption
Built for owners, not vendors
The numbers already know what's happening.
Now they will finally tell you.
